NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Invitation, the debut project from new female vocalist and worship leader, Meredith Andrews, has entered iTunes’ “Top Christian & Gospel Albums” chart at #1. Additionally, four songs from the CD, which released this week, are currently in the Top 100 of iTunes’ “Top Christian & Gospel Songs” chart.

The release of The Invitation has been met with critical acclaim from numerous publications including Billboard Magazine, which heralded Andrews as one of 2008’s “Faces to Watch.” Christianity Today.com stated, “Andrews brings a lot to the scene as a worship leader, a songwriter, and a terrific vocalist…,” and Salem Communications’ CMCentral said of Andrews, “if you’re a pop-lover, she’s a sure thing.”

The Invitation, produced by Jason Ingram and Rusty Varenkamp, showcases powerful vocals accentuated by beautiful piano melodies. The project features the soaring ballad and first radio single, “You’re Not Alone,” which is currently #15 and rapidly climbing radio charts. An extensive marketing campaign has accompanied The Invitation’s release, including appearances by Andrews at the Cre:ate Worship Leader Conference, the Saddleback Worship Conference, Celebrate Freedom in Dallas and Atlanta, as well as a full schedule of summer festivals.

As worship leader at Chicago’s 12,000-member Harvest Bible Church, Meredith Andrews has already performed in front of tens of thousands across the country. She has shared the stage with well-known artists such as Jeremy Camp, Building 429, and Bebo Norman, and recently completed the 30-city “Whispered and Shouted” tour with 2007’s “New Artist of the Year,” Aaron Shust, along with Brandon Heath who was recently named 2008’s “New Artist of the Year.”
